Overview
Cooperation
Chile is a founding member of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and played a pivotal role by hosting the official signing ceremony in Santiago on March 8, 2018. Following a comprehensive domestic legislative process, the agreement officially came into force for Chile on February 21, 2023.
As one of the world's most open economies, Chile's participation in the CPTPP strengthens its integration with the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement provides Chilean exporters with preferential access to a market of over 500 million consumers, particularly benefiting the country’s agricultural, forestry, and mineral sectors while establishing high standards for digital trade and sustainable development.
